Fleisbach is a district of the community of Sinn in the Lahn-Dill district in Central Hesse .
geography
The place is on the eastern edge of the Westerwald , west of the core town of Sinn and north of Edingen . Merkenbach , a district of Herborn, is to the north . Fleisbach is surrounded by forest, only in the east does the village border on the floodplains in the Dill valley . The eponymous Fleisbach flows through the village and flows into the Dill. The Saalbach flows south of the village and also flows into the Dill.
history
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1295. At that time Heinrich von Fleisbach, a citizen from Wetzlar , bought a piece of land in the village. The village belonged to the Herborner Mark in the 12th century and was created as a horseshoe-shaped hamlet .
In the 18th century there were already 227 inhabitants in Fleisbach. By the First World War , the population had risen to 800. After the population of 1000 had been reached in 1940, 114 soldiers died after the Second World War . From 1945 the influx of expellees began.
In recent times, new residential areas and an industrial area have been created. As a result, some companies found their headquarters in Fleisbach.
Territorial reform
As part of the municipal reform in Hesse until then independent municipality Fleisbach was on 1 January 1977. by the law on the restructuring of Dill circle counties Giessen and Wetzlar and Giessen for meaning incorporated . For the district of Fleisbach, as for the other incorporated, formerly independent municipalities, a local district with a local advisory council and local councilor was set up.

traffic
In the east of Fleisbach is the elevated route of the Autobahn 45 . The Herborn-Süd junction is located in the neighboring town of Merkenbach . Federal highway 277 also runs east of the village .
