Albert Heesing

Albert Heesing (born February 10, 1926 in Münster ; † January 12, 2015 ) was a German chemist, professor of organic chemistry at the University of Münster .

Heesing studied chemistry in Münster, where he received his doctorate in 1955 under Fritz Micheel . He completed his habilitation in 1963, became a professor in Münster and was dean of the chemistry department in 1971/72 and vice-rector of the university for personnel and financial matters from 1974 to 1978. In 1991 he retired.

Among other things, he dealt with guanidines (including color reaction according to Sakaguchi) and other dyes, reactive intermediates, rearrangement and hydrogen transfer reactions.
