Albert Jacquemart
Albert Jacquemart (* 1808 in Paris , † October 14, 1875 in Paris) was a French civil servant, painter and an important collector of ceramics.
He joined the Ministry of Finance and in 1865 became the bureau chief in the customs administration. As a flower painter he remained a dilettante , but as an art collector, especially of ceramics, he acquired significant knowledge. He wrote several standard works that have been translated into numerous languages. His son Jules was an engraver.
