Albert Larres

Albert Larres (born December 8, 1900 in Obergolbach near Kall; † December 7, 1987 in Cologne -Hohenlind) was a German artist who worked in the Eifel town of Schleiden . Larres created an extensive work on the Eifel region .

life and career

Larres began a three-year apprenticeship as a painter and varnisher in Kall in 1914. It was not until 1920 that he began private lessons with the Eifel painter Hubert Schlemmer (1862–1945). In 1938 he made his master craftsman examination in painting. He then attended the "Jo Strahn" art school in Düsseldorf from 1947 to 1949 .

Larres was a recorded his expressive and colorful pictures in oil, tempera, watercolor, sepia and ink as well as with brush, spatula, pastel pen, ink and pencil, also in mixed, point and spatula technique. It is estimated that his work comprises more than 1,000 works of art.
