Albert Martin, who at the Royal Clyde Yacht Club sailed, was in 1908 in London at the Olympic Games in the 12-meter class Olympic champion . In the regatta held on the Firth of Clyde in Scotland , only the two British boats Hera and Mouchette competed against each other in two races. The Hera , to whose crew Martin belonged, won both races, so that in addition to Martin and skipper Thomas Glen-Coats the other crew members John Aspin , John Buchanan , James Bunten , Arthur Downes , John Downes , John Mackenzie , David Dunlop and Gerald Tait die Gold medal received.
