James Clark Bunten (born March 28, 1875 in Glasgow , † June 3, 1935 ibid) was a British sailor from Scotland .

James Bunte that the Royal Clyde Yacht Club sailed, was in 1908 in London at the Olympic Games in the 12-meter class Olympic champion . In the regatta held on the Firth of Clyde in Scotland , only the two British boats Hera and Mouchette competed against each other in two races. The Hera , to whose crew Bunten belonged, won both races, so that in addition to Bunten and skipper Thomas Glen-Coats , the other crew members John Aspin , John Buchanan , David Dunlop , Arthur Downes , John Downes , John Mackenzie , Albert Martin and Gerald Tait die Gold medal received.

Bunten was a mechanical engineer by profession .
