Albert Rafetraniaina (born September 9, 1996 in Ambohitrony , Analamanga province ) is a Malagasy - French football player .
Career
Born in Madagascar, the player came to France in his youth and started playing football in 2007 at SC d'Air Bel . From where he made the leap into the youth of the professional club OGC Nice in September 2010 . Rafetraniaina, who his former U-15 coach claimed was the greatest talent he ever coached, was included in first-team friendly matches at the age of 15. Although he should have played in the B-Jugend for his age , the junior player was considered for the reserve team in the fifth division at the beginning of the 2012/13 season, for which he first appeared at the age of 15.
For a first division game against Stade Reims on October 6, 2012, he was called to the professional squad and made his debut for the team when he came on in the 81st minute. The game ended in a 3-1 defeat. The player, who was 16 years and 27 days old at the time, became the second youngest French premier league player of all time, even if he did not make any further appearances in the first division, but only made a substitution in the league cup. From the 2014/15 season, during which he celebrated his 18th birthday, he was regularly considered for the professional team. In the first half of the following season, however, he played almost no role and was awarded to the second division Red Star Paris in January 2016 . In the fight for a possible promotion, which was ultimately not achieved, he received hardly any match practice there in the following months. In 2016 he returned to Nice. On December 8, 2016, he made his debut against Kuban Krasnodar in the Europa League, but otherwise received no match practice in the first team.
National team
Since he had lived in France for a long time, the native Madagascan was also eligible to play for this country. On May 21, 2014, he made his debut in a 1-0 win in a friendly against Croatia for the French U-18 national team. Subsequently, he was initially no longer considered in the selection teams before he first appeared for the U-20s in September 2015.
