Albert Schmidt (politician, 1877)

Albert Schmidt (born December 10, 1877 in Malstatt , † after 1933) was a German trade unionist and politician ( center ).

Life

After attending primary school, Schmidt worked as a metal lathe operator in Konz . In addition to his professional activity, he trained himself through self-tuition and by participating in economic courses at the Volksverein for Catholic Germany . He joined the union and was later a board member of the Christian Union of German Railway Workers . In addition, he acted as chairman of the railway construction cooperative based in Konz-Karthaus, as a board member of the Reichsbahn-Betriebs-Krankenkasse based in Trier and as a board member of the Reichsbahn-Arbeiter-Pensionskasse I based in Berlin .

Schmidt, who had joined the Center Party, was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1913 to 1918 , from 1919 to 1921 a member of the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly and from 1921 to 1933 a member of the Prussian Landtag .
