Albert Wangerin (electrical engineer)

Albert Wangerin (born July 7, 1909 in Magdeburg ; † March 26, 1985 ) was a lecturer at the Institute for Shipbuilding at the University of Hamburg .

Growing up in Gdansk , he studied electrical engineering at the Technical Universities of Gdansk and Munich . His diploma from 1936 was awarded the Werner von Siemens Prize.

Since 1952 he had a teaching position for ship electrical engineering at the Technical University of Hanover and was appointed full professor at the Technical University of Hanover in 1963 . His specialty was ship electrical engineering. He played a key role in building the Bundeswehr University in Hamburg . In 1975 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
