Albert von Brunn (philologist)

Albert von Brunn (* 1954 ) is a German Ibero-Romance philologist .

Life

Von Brunn studied Ibero-Romance Philology from 1973 to 1983 at the universities of Basel, Saragossa and Lisbon. He received his doctorate in 1981 from the University of Basel with the thesis Catalan fabrics, clothes and leatherwork of oriental origin . Since 1986 he has been a specialist in Portuguese, Brazilian and Italian literature and philology at the Zurich Central Library . He has published numerous books on contemporary Brazilian literature. In addition, from 1986 to 2009 he was a permanent contributor to the magazine Orientation of the Zurich Jesuits. and writes regularly for the online publication www.novacultura.de about contemporary Portuguese-language literature.
