Albert von Spreckelsen (born December 18, 1873 in Bremen , † October 30, 1951 in Bremen) was a German lawyer , judge , Bremen senator and politician (DVP).

education and profession

Von Spreckelsen was the son of a merchant. He graduated from the old high school in Bremen and studied 1892-1895 jurisprudence at the University of Freiburg , the University of Munich and the Humboldt University of Berlin . From 1899 to 1903 he practiced as a lawyer in Bremen. He then became a judge at the local court and later regional court director in Bremen.

politics

In 1908 he was elected to the Bremen citizenship for 1st class in the Bremen 8-class suffrage. Here he was active in various deputations .

In 1919 he joined the German People's Party (DVP). In June 1920 he was re-elected to the citizenry and vice-president of parliament. As early as July 9, 1920, Mayor Martin Donandt (non-party) was elected to the Bremen Senate in the Senate from 1920 to 1925, 1925 to 1928 and 1928 to 1933. He was responsible for the judiciary, the medical system and the police in Bremen ( 1920–1928, 1931–1933) and worked in several deputations. He was forced to resign as a senator on March 18, 1933 by the National Socialists . After that he could no longer work politically or as a judge.
