Alberto (YouTuber)
Alberto (actually Albert Martin Raheem Trovato , formerly Albert Odonkor and Albert Bruhn , born as Calvin Odonkor ; born June 15, 1984 in Farmersville , Texas , United States ; according to other sources in Hamburg , Germany ) is a German - American Beatboxer and YouTuber from Hamburg.
Life
Between his birth and the age of three he came to Hamburg from the USA and later to a children's home there. There it was renamed Albert Martin Raheem Odonkor because of its exotic name. In 1990 he was adopted by the Bruhn family from Hamburg. At the age of 13 he was “thrown out of the house” because he was considered a problem child. He graduated from high school and began studying after finishing school.
Trovato plays several instruments and started rapping when he was 19. Beatboxing was added almost at the same time . He took part in beatbox competitions and was German beatbox runner-up on the Beatbox Battle Tour in 2004 and 2005. In 2007 he was a candidate for Das Supertalent and then appeared on German television and at trade fairs (e.g. Cebit). In 2009 he also shot a TV commercial for the 2009 election of the German Bundestag .
From 2007 to 2010 Alberto worked as a beatboxing trainer at the Hip Hop Academy Hamburg, an institution for promoting young people from socially disadvantaged areas. He gave beatboxing lessons on behalf of the Hip Hop Academy in schools in problem areas. In 2011 Trovato moved to Los Angeles to pursue his studies in film and animation at UCLA . After completing his studies in 2013, he returned to Hamburg. In January 2014 he married the TV detective Sharon Trovato ( The Trovatos - Detectives uncover ), but this marriage was divorced only six months later. The civil wedding took place in Mönchengladbach, home of Sharon Trovato.
In April 2014 Trovato had his first title fight in the mixed martial arts in Koblenz, which he won after 30 seconds. In May 2014 he started his own party series called Al's Party to present talents in Germany. Alberto has been doing martial arts with young people on a voluntary basis since 2017 in order to give them a perspective and to help them use their free time sensibly.

Alberto's career on YouTube began in August 2006. Since his appearance on Das Supertalent , he has regularly uploaded both beatboxing videos of his own performances and instructional videos for his subscribers, which led to his breakthrough. In 2010, he and his close friend Cheng introduced the YouTube show I bet you will not ... , which was very popular and was one of the main reasons why Alberto is still one of the most subscribed YouTubers in Germany. In 2011, however, the series had to be discontinued by Cheng for personal reasons.
Shortly after the off of I bet you will not ... developed Alberto a new concept under the name Al, Bert and O . In this series, the three fictional characters "Al", "Bert" and "O" appear and lead a discussion on audience questions. Alberto plays all three roles in different disguises and adds an individual ego to each character through different ways of speaking and articulation. According to his own statement, however, at the end of the video he tries to come up with a serious statement on the respective topic. Each of the three characters also has its own program; "O" appears in O's Ghetto Tips and gives tips on various topics relevant to young people . "Bert" is the main actor in the Bert family , a series in which short skits from the life of the highly intelligent Bert and his family are shown. Alberto embodies the role of himself, Al, in Hey Al , a program in which he answers viewer questions in or about himself and also depicts short scenes from his current life in a satirical way.
In 2011, Alberto also introduced the secondary channel “playalbertoson” on which, as he plays Call of Duty very intensively , he uploads videos about the game. In the videos he explains tactics or organizes competitions in which the viewers have to guess whether Alberto will win a game sequence shown or not. The users give tips in the comments, there are t-shirts to win. Currently (January 2019) Alberto has over 1.3 million subscribers and more than 130 million video views. It ranks 121st among the most subscribed German YouTubers. At the end of October / beginning of November 2015 Trovato announced that it would no longer continue its channel “albertoson”.
On January 27, 2019, Alberto published a new video in his series Now I ask and thus returned to YouTube after almost four years.
