Alberto Errera (economist)

Alberto Errera (born April 21, 1842 in Venice , † January 4, 1894 in Naples ) was an Italian economist .

Life

Errera attended high school in Venice and then studied law in Padua . While still a student, he was by the government of that time to the Austrian empire belonging Veneto arrested because he participated vividly the anti-Austrian aspirations of the Venetians.

He was charged with high treason and imprisoned for three years. After his liberation he was appointed professor of economics and statistics at the Technical Institute in Venice, from where he went to Milan in the same capacity, where he also became editor of the local newspaper “ La Perseveranza ”. He was later called to Naples.

His main work is the " Storia e Statistica delle industrie venete edel loro avenire " (Venice 1870), with the appendix: " Table statistiche e documenti per la Storia e Statistica delle industrie venete e accenni al loro avvenire " (Venice 1870).

In his scholarly works he strongly advocated the reformist school course .
