Albin Molnár (born June 2, 1935 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian sailor .

Life

Albin Molnár was a physical education teacher at the Testnevelés Tanszék (Department of Physical Education) founded in 1955 at what is now the University of Pannonia Georgikon Faculty of the University of Veszprém in Keszthely .

He was a trainer in Hungary, Italy and Switzerland. He himself took an active part in the Olympic Games and introduced many sailors to the Olympic Games and World Championships. He did his doctorate in sports medicine and speaks Hungarian, German, Russian and English as well as French.

Albin Molnár was national trainer in Hungary from 1965 and from 1972 national trainer of the German Sailing Association .

Until his retirement he was the regional trainer of the Bavarian Sailing Association . In 2002 he once again took on the task of a special trainer for the laser class on behalf of the DSV, in order to ensure the participation of a sailor in this class at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .

Sporting successes

Molnár is a member of the Budapesti Épitök Sport Club . In 1957 he was third in the Hungarian sailing championships in the Finn dinghy class .

For Hungary he took part in the sailing competitions of the Summer Olympics in Rome in 1960. He started as a bowman with helmsman Imre Holényi in this year after 1956 for the second time at the Olympics represented two-handed class Flying Dutchman and reached the 13th place in the overall results.
