The Bavarian Sailing Association (BSV) is the umbrella organization of around 200 sailing, surfing and kite sports clubs in Bavaria . The BSV is the regional sailing association of the Bavarian State Sports Association and an extraordinary member of the German Sailing Association .

history

The official founding day of the association after the Second World War is June 21, 1946 - on this day the Bavarian State Sports Association and with it the sailing division received a license from the American military administration .

The sailing division was one of the founding members, and Trautwein from Munich is named as the first division representative. When it was founded, five associations with 242 members were represented in the association. At the annual meeting of the division on April 24, 1953, the new association statutes were adopted, according to which the division was renamed the Bavarian Sailing Association .

At the end of 2006 the association represented 234 clubs with 32,381 members.

Organization and activity

The Bavarian Sailing Association is a registered association based in Munich. In the 210 member associations of the BSV, 31,135 members are organized in 60 districts in Bavaria.

The association was founded in 1946. It promotes popular sport and supports athletes in Olympic and non-Olympic classes with special attention to the youth. His interests also extend to competitive sports, cruising and regatta sailors as well as windsurfers and kite surfers.

It is the mouthpiece for the common interests of its members towards authorities and associations. It is exclusively and directly oriented towards the common good, it is run on a voluntary basis and is selflessly active. In its interests, the BSV extends to competitive and popular sports, to cruising and regatta sailors as well as to windsurfers and kite surfers.

According to the statutes, the general assembly and the board of directors are organs of the FSIO. The general meeting is held once a year. At this meeting, the member associations have voting rights relative to their number of members.

Below the Board exist

  • the state sailing committee, which is chaired by the competition sailor
  • the regional youth sailing committee, which is chaired by the youth chairman, and
  • a lake committee, to which the individual sailing areas each send a district representative.

The chairman for special sailing disciplines takes care of the topics of surfing .

Youth work

The youth work in the "Bavarian Sailing Youth" is coordinated by the regional youth chairman, who is a member of the association's board. He is supported by the regional youth sailing committee. The state youth chairman is elected at the state youth sailors meeting.

The Bavarian State Youth and State Youngsters Championships, for which the BSV is the organizer, traditionally take place on Lake Starnberg , the organization is carried out by the Bavarian Yacht Club, the Munich Yacht Club and the Sailing Club Würmsee . It is only sailed in classes that are worthy of the championship according to the championship regulations of the German Sailing Association.

Training and education

training

An employed state trainer carries out the inspection of the regatta sailors for the state squad, coordinates training measures, accompanies German championships and higher-quality regattas and organizes the training and competition measures in such a way that members of the state squad have the opportunity to switch to the national squad if they perform well .

As a rule, very good regatta sailors, some of them Olympic participants, such as Albin Molnár (national trainer in Hungary and German national trainer), Thomas Reulein (now team leader and head of competitive sports for the Swiss Sailing Team ) or Michael Fellmann (participant in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics) are signed up as national coaches .

Since October 1, 2017, the restructured “Sports Department” has been headed by Marco Mittermeir , a former member of the Austrian national rowing team, studied sports scientist and sports manager and most recently the Hessian national coach of the rowing association. He calls in fee coaches for popular sport and for special training tasks.

From mid-April 2019, Robert Remus, who had already worked for the BSV from 2010 to 2014, took over the position of national trainer and sporting director.

education

On behalf of the DSV, the association carries out the training of regional referees and race leaders and holds courses for assistant coaches, coach C popular sport sailing and coach C competitive sport sailing as well as regular knowledge seminars and courses for further education and license extensions for national referees and national race leaders.

The BLSV licenses for Trainer C popular sport sailing are created and extended via the office. This license is required to apply for the association fee at the responsible district administration authority. The office supports the application for large sports equipment funding from the BLSV for the purchase of certain youth boats.
