The Yacht Club Nürnberg e. V. (YCN; formerly Yacht Club Noris ) is a Bavarian sailing club based in Nuremberg . With over 600 members, it is the largest sailing club in Northern Bavaria .

Noris Yacht Club

The Nuremberg Yacht Club was founded in 1961 as the Noris Yacht Club.

Together with the rowing club in Nuremberg, it shares the club premises on the northern peninsula at Dutzendteich , only divided by the Fischbach . The site belongs to the former Reichsparteitagsgelaende and is available as people Nürnberg (D-5-64-000-2367) under conservation .

The clubhouse at Dutzendteich, built in-house, was moved into in 1965. This is attacked by mold and partly at risk of collapse. A new building at the same location is being planned.

In 1999 the second club house was added in the sailing center Ramsberg am Brombachsee.

Yacht Club Nuremberg

On July 18, 2018, the members of the Yacht-Club Noris and the former division of the former ATV Frankonia Nürnberg (merged with SV 1873 Nürnberg Süd to ATV 1873 Frankonia Nürnberg in 2014 ), also founded in Nürnberg and later based in Großer Brombachsee, decided Ramsberg independent association Yachtclub Frankonia the amalgamation of the two sailing clubs.

With the resolution of the general meeting in April and entry in the register in June 2019, the association changed its name to Yacht-Club Nürnberg e. V. This should clarify the solidarity with the city of Nuremberg and the metropolitan region.

In the first year the YCN sailed in the sailing Bundesliga, at that time the first and only league according to this mode.

After the first season in 2014, he was relegated to the newly founded 2nd sailing Bundesliga. The YCN could not hold this league at the end of 2014 and failed to qualify for the 2nd division.

In October 2015 another team took part in the qualification for the 2nd division in Glücksburg , but the entry into the 2nd division was narrowly missed.

In 2016, the YCN built a new team for qualification, but at the end of the season failed to make it into the 2nd division.
