Life

After attending the Rudolf Diesel High School in Augsburg , Autenrieth began studying business administration for top athletes in Oldenburg. In his free time he is a sailing sport and successfully participated in several competitions in the youth class Optimist, which is considered the entry-level class for sailors. He is encouraged by his family; his brother Philipp Autenrieth (* 1990), who is one and a half years older, is also a successful young sailor.

Autenrieth started for the Bavarian Yacht Club (BYC) in Starnberg and achieved several good placements in the optimist class. The highlight was his victory in the 2006 World Cup, which was scheduled to take place in Uruguay in early January 2007 before Montevideo. After Tina Lutz's title in 2005, it was the second German gold medal in this class, which has been held since 1962.

The two brothers have already achieved several successes in this boat class, such as qualifying for the world championship in 2008.

Julian Autenrieth was also involved in international youth encounters and, among other things, was a prominent guest in July 2007 at the intercultural youth exchange “Sailing without Borders” in Friedrichshafen , in which young people from Germany, Spain and South Africa took part. In August 2009 he looked after the Finnish national team at the national championship in the optimist class and at a subsequent training camp .

In September 2009 Julian and Philipp Autenrieth started for the first time in a two-man racing dinghy of the 470 class. Her goal was to participate in the 2016 Olympics in this Olympic boat class. However, they missed that goal.
