Claire-Hope Ashitey

Claire-Hope Naa K. Ashitey (born February 12, 1987 in Enfield , Middlesex ) is a British actress .

Career

Ashitey began taking professional acting classes at London's Center Stage School of Performing Arts at the age of 12 . At the same time, she completed an undergraduate degree in French and German history .

Ashitey played her first film role at the age of 18 with John Hurt and Hugh Dancy in Shooting Dogs (2005). Despite this success in film, she continued to pursue her plans to study anthropology and law at a university. More than 20 film and television productions followed.

In 2012 she received a nomination for the Austrian Film Prize for her portrayal of a young mother in the Austrian film Black Brown White , who tries to illegally travel from Africa to Europe together with her child .
