Albiorix (mythology)
Albiorix is a Celtic god from Gaul . He was possibly worshiped as the tribal god of the Albioriges and perhaps also the Albici. The name is probably derived from the Middle Cymrian word elfydd ("world", "country"), which can also be found in Albion . It means something like "king of the country" or "king of the world". According to the Interpretatio Romana, an inscription from Vaison-la-Romaine (Vasio) in the Roman province of Gallia Narbonensis brings him together with Mars . Another was found at Oulx (Ulcium) in the Alpes Cottiae province .
