The Albisriederplatz is a place west of the city Zurich in the urban district of Aussersihl . Badenerstrasse and Albisriedenstrasse and Hardstrasse meet at the traffic junction.

history

Albisriederplatz got its name in 1927 and was built at the place where the borders of Zurich and Albisrieden met. Albisriederplatz has belonged to the city of Zurich since 1934.

The tram lines 2 and 3 , which run on Badenerstrasse, stop at Albisriederplatz . From Albisriederstrasse in the direction of Hardbrücke , the square is also served by the trolleybus routes 33 and 72 and the bus route 83.

Albisriederplatz is an important junction for road traffic, with up to 1800 vehicles per hour at peak times.

building

There are numerous shops in the buildings around Albisriederplatz. One of the oldest is a café, which opened in 1922 on Albisriederplatz. Right next door is the Stoller restaurant, in a striking pink building, where ice cream has been made since 1938 and which became famous in 1968 when Jimi Hendrix visited .
