Albrecht Betz (* 1943 in Korbach ) is a German specialist in German .

Life

After receiving his doctorate in 1970 at the TU Berlin and his habilitation in 1985 at the RWTH Aachen , he taught literary history as a professor at the Institute for German and General Literary Studies at the RWTH Aachen and at the University of Paris III and Paris VII . After his retirement in Aachen, he took on visiting professorships in Montreal and Leuven .

Albrecht Betz's research areas are comparative literary studies, in particular German and French literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition, he deals with the aesthetics of modernity, exile literature and German-French cultural relations.

The translation of his publication Exil und Engagement. German writers in France in the thirties by Pierre Rusch was awarded the Prix ​​de l'Assemblée Nationale in Paris in 1991 .
