Albrecht Gruber

Albrecht Gruber (born April 24, 1902 in Wiesbaden ; † May 28, 1973 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German publisher .

He worked as a bookseller and authorized signatory at JD Sauerländer's Verlag . In 1936/37 he took it over as owner from the last family owner, Robert David Sauerländer (1866–1962). From 1939 to 1946 he was in military service and imprisonment, during this time his wife Hedwig Gruber (born June 10, 1904, † May 1, 1976) ran the publishing house, supported by Robert David Sauerländer. He continued the publishing program in the fields of forest science (from 1951 new magazine "Silvae Genetica") and classical philology . After his death, his nephew Helmut A. Baetz took over the publishing house.

In 1963 he received the Heinrich Christian Burckhardt Medal from the Forest Faculty of the University of Göttingen for services to forest science and its practical applications.
