The Albtalstraße , also L 154 , is a nearly 30-kilometer-long road through the Albtal in the Waldshut district .

history

The road was built from 1855 to 1859. The tunnel construction work was carried out with hammer and chisel and progressed approx. 2 meters in the week. In the section between the Albbruck district of Hohenfels and the Görwihl district of Tiefenstein , there was a rock fall in May 2015 and the road was subsequently closed. For years, no work to remove the roughly ten-ton boulder got underway. In 2019, the road through the Albtal, which had been closed since 2015, was no longer shown on some maps. In February 2020, the ten-ton boulder was removed by unknown persons. Since then, a citizens' initiative has been campaigning for the reopening of the street with various actions.

description

The road connects the L 149 with the federal highway 34 and leads from St. Blasien to Albbruck . In the section between Hohenfels and Tiefenstein, the road leads through five shorter tunnels, which are considered technical monuments.
