Teresa Nowak

Teresa Nowak (born Gierczak, second marriage to Nikitin; born April 29, 1942 in Piotrków Trybunalski ) is a former Polish hurdler who specialized in the 100-meter distance .

At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 , she won bronze. In 1970 she was fourth over 60 m hurdles at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Vienna and sixth at the European Championships in Helsinki in 1971 .

In 1972 she retired from the European Indoor Championships in Grenoble over 50 m hurdles in the preliminary run. At the Olympic Games in Munich she came in fifth place.

At the European Indoor Championships in 1973 in Rotterdam, she won bronze over 60 m hurdles. In 1974 she did not finish at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg in the final over 60 m hurdles and won bronze at the European Championships in Rome . In 1975 she retired at the European Indoor Championships in Katowice in the preliminary run over 60 m hurdles and took silver at the Universiade . At the Indoor European Championships in 1976 in Munich, she was fifth.

In 1967, 1969 and 1974 she was Polish champion over 80 m hurdles and 100 m hurdles. In 1973 she became the Soviet indoor champion over 60 m hurdles.
