My green heart in dark times is a German documentary by Ingo Schmoll from 2020 about the German band Heaven Shall Burn .

The film shows the band's work on the double album Of Truth and Sacrifice , which will be released in March 2020, with comments . It consists mainly of interviews and behind-the-scenes recordings. In addition to the recording process, the band members are also shown in their civil professions. Singer Marcus Bischoff is an intensive care nurse , while Maik Weichert is a doctoral candidate and perpetual student who also looks after a vegan snack bar. In addition to the band, which also provides information about their youth, the work colleagues as well as Tue Madsen from Antfarm Studio and various other contributors to the album are interviewed. There are also recordings from the band's visit to Belarus , where the conductor Wilhelm Keitel realizes some orchestral passages from the album, as well as from the video shoot. The documentation ends with the recordings for the double video Protector / Weakness Leaving My Heart .

Ingo Schmoll accompanied the band for a year while recording the album Of Truth and Sacrifice , which will be released in March . The premiere took place on February 18, 2020 at the CineStar Leipzig, where the band was also present. The film was shown in cinemas nationwide and in Austria on February 19, 2020.
The film title alludes to the socio-critical attitude of the band.
