The Alcorta Rocks are a nunatak 2.6 km east-northeast of Rocky Point in the eastern section of Maumee Bight . It is 100 m high and essentially consists of three mountain ridges extending radially from the center.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2000 after Jesse James Alcorta (* 1963), a technical employee with various areas of responsibility at the McMurdo , the Amundsen-Scott South Pole stations and those of the United States Antarctic Program .
