Alcyone Cone (also incorrectly called Aleyone Cone ) is an extinct volcanic cone in the center of the Pleiades mountain range at the western head end of the Mariner Glacier in East Antarctica Victoria Land .

It was named by participants in a campaign carried out from 1971 to 1972 as part of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions in the Evans Firnfield area after Alkione , the brightest star in the Pleiades star cluster .
