The Aldabra Group is a group of islands in the southern Indian Ocean about 360 km north of Madagascar . It belongs to the Republic of Seychelles and is counted there among the so-called Outer Islands .

The group consists of the Aldabra Atoll, the Cosmoledo Atoll, and the two islands of Assomption and Astove .

The total land area of the group is 175.91 km². However, the group is extended to several thousand square kilometers. None of the islands are regularly inhabited, but there are several stations for exploring and protecting the atoll. Passing passenger ships offer day trips to most of the islands.

The Aldabra Group is more than 1000 km away from the main islands of the Seychelles, Mahé and Praslin (the so-called Inner Islands).

In February 2018, the Seychelles government announced its intention to declare the 75,000 km² sea area around the archipelago a nature reserve.
