Alejandra Soler (2017)

Alejandra Soler Gilabert (born July 8, 1913 in Valencia ; † March 1, 2017 there ) was a Spanish politician and university lecturer . She also worked for the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She studied at the Institución de Enseñanza para la Mujer as well as humanities and teaching at the Instituto Lluís Vives , where she was also a member of the FUE athletics association .

She took part in the uprising against the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and joined the Communist Party in 1934.

After the Spanish Civil War she was in a French refugee camp . She later emigrated to the USSR with her husband Arnoldo Azzatti , where she worked as a teacher for Spanish refugee children. During World War II she saved 14 children in the Battle of Stalingrad .

In 2011 she took part in the " May 15th Movement ".
