Alejandro García (boxer)

Alejandro García (* 18th July 1979 in Tijuana , Mexico ) is a former Mexican boxer in the light middleweight and two-time WBA world champion.

Career

On March 1, 2003, he took Santiago Samaniego the regular world title of the WBA. In September of the same year he defended this belt against the hitherto undefeated Rhoshii Wells by giving up in round 10. In December of the same year, however, he lost it to the hitherto undefeated Travis Simms by technical knockout in round 5. In June 2005 he was García was named WBA world champion without a fight and held this title for the second time. In his first title defense, however, he lost it the following year against Jose Antonio Rivera .
