José Alejandro Gómez Monteverde (born July 13, 1977 in Tampico , Mexico ) is a Mexican director and screenwriter .

biography

José Alejandro Gómez Monteverde immigrated to the USA at the age of 17. He studied film at the University of Texas at Austin and directed several commercials after his two short films Bocho and Waiting for Trains . In 2006, his first staged feature film was released with the drama Bella . The one with Eduardo Verástegui and Tammy Blanchard occupied starring film was the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival awarded the Audience Award.

During a Bible course at his church, Gómez Monteverde met the actress Ali Landry , whom he married on April 8, 2006 in San Miguel de Allende , Mexico . He has three children with her who were born in 2007, 2011 and 2013.
