Toronto International Film Festival 2007

The 32nd Toronto International Film Festival took place September 6-15, 2007 . It's a ten day film festival with no competition.

349 films from 55 countries were shown, many of them for the first time in North America or even worldwide. Directors presented their film debut in 71 films. The festival featured over 100 Canadian productions and co-productions. The gala took place at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto .

Over 500 guests were invited, including stars such as Cate Blanchett , George Clooney , Jodie Foster , Samuel L. Jackson , Sean Penn , Brad Pitt , Charlize Theron , Sigourney Weaver and Reese Witherspoon .

The film drama Fugitive Pieces by Jeremy Podeswa with Stephen Dillane and Rade Šerbedžija opened the festival. It is based on the novel of the same name by Anne Michaels . Paolo Barzman's film drama Emotional Arithmetic with Christopher Plummer , Susan Sarandon , Gabriel Byrne , Max von Sydow and Roy Dupuis formed the conclusion. The film is based on the book of the same name by Matt Cohen and is about three Holocaust survivors who meet again after decades.

On September 9, 2007, the drama Elizabeth - The Golden Kingdom by director Shekhar Kapur had its world premiere, in which Cate Blanchett played the title role and is considered a tip at the Oscars .

For the first time Woody Allen had agreed to participate, he was represented with the drama Cassandra's dream . Richard Attenborough showed the love story Closing the Ring with Shirley MacLaine .
