The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe is a French spy movie - a parody of the director Yves Robert .
action
François Perrin is a highly gifted, but somewhat absent-minded violinist who also has a relationship with Paulette, the wife of his best friend Maurice. When Perrin descends an escalator in two different shoes after a foreign tour in the airport, he is chosen because of this characteristic by an employee of the security chief Toulouse to unknowingly play a "dangerous agent" in order to lead his rival deputy Milan on the wrong track.
Milan are now using all possible means, legal and illegal, to create a link between Toulouse and Perrin, but have not achieved any results. After all, the agent Christine is supposed to get the necessary information through female seduction. When this attempt also fails, Perrin is said to be killed. With a lot of luck and a little help from Toulouse's assistant Perrache, Perrin survived all the attacks. Perrin's pursuers on both sides kill each other, and Milan is also finally murdered. Maurice, who repeatedly unintentionally witnesses the deeds, loses her mind and comes under medical treatment. François and Christine fall in love and leave the country.
background
- The Romanian composer Vladimir Cosma wrote one of his best-known film scores for his compatriot Gheorghe Zamfir with the title theme on the panpipe .
- It was only the great success of the film in Germany that made Pierre Richard popular in his native France and made his international career possible. Only then was the sequel The Great Blonde Returns ( Le Retour du grand blond , 1974) filmed, in which François Perrin and Christine experience further adventures.
- In 1985, Stan Dragoti shot a remake with the title The Crazy with the Violin Case (alternative distribution title: The tall blonde with the red shoe ). The main role was played by Tom Hanks .
- Pierre Richard was committed to the comedic profession after the success of the film, as he lamented in a newspaper interview in 2008.
- Filming locations in Paris included Avenue de la Bourdonnais 61, 75007 Paris (François Perrin's apartment) and Rue Pierre Semard, 75009 Paris (Christine escapes her kidnappers).
- After The Big Blonde with the Black Shoe and its sequel The Big Blonde Returns , Pierre Richard portrayed a character named François Perrin in three more of his films, who was not based on the original figure of the clumsy violinist and was drawn differently in each case . In A Dub Gone Wrong (1976) Perrin was a commercial photographer in The toy (also 1976) journalist, and in La Chèvre (1981) a small group employee.
synchronization
The German dubbing was created in 1973 by Rainer Brandt Filmproduktions GmbH , Berlin . The dialogue book was written by Rainer Brandt , who also did the dubbing. Two years later, the DEFA Studio for Synchronization Leipzig produced its own version, directed by Gisela Büttner.

Reviews
“Enjoyable parody of secret service work and agent film clichés. Wrapped up with wit and ingenuity in the turbulent entanglements around an alleged top agent with whom a secret service chief successfully fools his ambitious deputy. A carefree pleasure with class, even if not entirely without lengths. "
