The Tall Blonde Returns is a 1974 French comedy film directed by Yves Robert . It is a sequel to the 1972 film The Tall Blonde with the Black Shoe .

action

After his unwitting use as a decoy for the head of the secret service, Alphonse Toulouse, who killed the deputy head of the secret service, Milan, the violinist François Perrin flew to Rio de Janeiro with his lover Christine . It has been three months since then and a new minister has been elected in France. At his side is Commissioner Cambrai, who has set himself the goal of investigating Milan's death. He suspects that there is a Toulouse trap behind everything, which is confirmed by a letter from François to his friend Maurice: In him, François reports that he was only used as a decoy. Influenced by Cambrai, the minister asked Toulouse to introduce François to him. He is supposed to play the violin in Paris next Wednesday . Toulouse sends the killers Charmant and Prince to Rio to murder François. He informed the minister that François was dead; a big funeral is organized and carried out, but the killers fail to shoot François. In the end, Toulouse flies to Rio himself, takes Christine under his control and forces François to follow his instructions.

François returns to Paris as a seemingly ice-cold killer, but this time by accident he wears a black and a red shoe. He rejects the warnings from Maurice and Paulette waiting for him at the airport. He will be picked up by Toulouse and Perrache, who will bring him up to date. Because Cambrai does not believe that François is a super agent, he is told by the minister to be given a particularly dangerous assignment to prove his skills. Toulouse and Perrache accompany him to the minister and portray François as burned out and needing a vacation. The minister agrees, but Cambrai believes he has been lied to. He announces that he will be monitoring François particularly. Because Cambrai's file makes it clear that he has only done desk work so far, but that he collapses whenever he gets excited, Toulouse and Perrache stage a super agent performance for François. In a remote area he is attacked by various people, shoots a mad Chinese man and shortly afterwards a whole group of attackers. The violinist escapes Toulouse's built-in trap, which should lead to François' actual death. Cambrai witnessed the actions together with Maurice and is shocked. However, they both find out that there were only blanks in François' gun. They develop a plan to finally capture Toulouse, and they also initiate François.

Christine, released by Toulouse, meets François in bed with Maurice's wife Paulette. She is stunned and leaves, but is intercepted by Maurice and also let in on the plan. In the evening there will be a concert where François will be the first violinist. Toulouse plans to have François shot during the concert. Cambrai suspects it and goes to Toulouse before the concert; he announces the consequences if something happens to François, especially since Maurice will also testify against Toulouse. Toulouse calls Charmant and Prince back. During the concert, Christine appears and shoots François on the open stage. Toulouse and Cambrai rush onto the stage, Maurice announces that he will testify against Toulouse, and he grabs Christine's revolver and shoots Cambrai. Only now does he realize that it was only a question of blank cartridges. He leaves the stage and apparently shoots himself with Perrache's pistol. Here, too, it was only a question of blank cartridges, so that Perrache and Toulouse can escape undisturbed. Cambrai thanks everyone who helped him and François ends up knocking him down for being an agent before kissing Christine. However, the minister decides to resign.
