Yves Robert (born June 21, 1920 in Saumur , † May 20, 2002 in Paris ) was a French actor , screenwriter , film producer and director .

Life

Yves Robert went to Paris as a teenager to gain his first experience as an actor on the theater and variety stages. He took on his first film role in 1948. As a screenwriter and director, he had great success with several comedies. In particular, his films The War of the Buttons , The Tall Blonde with the Black Shoe and An Elephant Is Big Mistakes earned him international recognition. He worked as a film director until the early 1990s.

In 1962 he was awarded the Jean Vigo Prize for The War of the Buttons .

Robert was married to the actress Danièle Delorme (1926-2015) from 1956 until his death . Danièle Delorme was also a partner in his film production company.
