action

The market trader Blaireau actually only has the license to sell mushrooms in the market in a small French town. In order to increase profits, he hatches a not entirely legal plan: after work, he secretly fishes fish from urban waters without permission, in order to then sell them black on the market. He also poaches in the urban forest. The local gendarme and the mayor soon notice him. However, the two do not manage to find out about Blaireau. A turbulent game of cops and robbers begins. The population stands behind Blaireau without exception, as he regularly supplies them with inexpensive fish or game.

One night the gendarme is ambushed and his badge is stolen. This is a welcome occasion for him to finally put Blaireau in jail. With his friendly, engaging manner, he even convinces the prison director to secretly go hunting with him at night. But then the real culprit reports, and Blaireau is rehabilitated and becomes a hero of the city.
