Pierre Mondy (born February 10, 1925 in Neuilly-sur-Seine as Pierre Cuq , † September 15, 2012 in Paris ) was a French actor and director .

Life

Mondy received lessons at the private drama school Cours Simon in Paris and then successfully played theater. In the 1950s he had small roles in film.

He became internationally known in 1960 through the impersonation of Napoleon Bonaparte in the film Austerlitz - Shine of an Imperial Crown by Abel Gance . After he had already appeared in numerous comedy roles in France in the 1970s, he achieved great popularity in 1981, especially in Germany, with the comedy Ein Spikantes Gift . The petty-bourgeois banker Dufourn receives in retirement by his colleagues a Venice -Travel paid - services of a call girl ( Clio Goldsmith ) included. Later Dufourn wants to repeat the trip with his wife Antonella ( Claudia Cardinale ) in a similar way.

From 1952 to 1954 he was married to the actress Claude Gensac (1927-2016).
