Jean Marsan

Jean Marsan (born April 7, 1920 in Levallois-Perret , France , † September 29, 1977 in Grez-sur-Loing , Seine-et-Marne , France) was a French actor and screenwriter who won an Oscar for the one time best original story was nominated.

Life

Marsan was an actor at the Comédie-Française between 1946 and 1947 and also made his debut as a film actor in Interdit au public by Fred Pasquali in 1949 with Catherine Auger , Simone Duhart and Jacques Erwin in the leading roles. The film was based on his stage work of the same name . In 1953 he also began working as a screenwriter for the Jean Boyer directed film Femmes de Paris with Michel Simon , Brigitte Auber and Henri Génès .

At the Academy Awards in 1956 he was nominated together with Henri Troyat , Jacques Perret , Henri Verneuil and Raoul Ploquin for the Oscar for the best original story for the comedy The Mutton with the Five Legs (Le mouton à cinq pattes, 1955) by Henri Verneuil with Fernandel , Françoise Arnoul and Andrex in the lead roles.

He played until 1961 in four other films with and belonged 1966 to 1976 for ensemble of actors for the television drama series Au théâtre ce soir , for which he at the same time as an author own songs adaptations contributed.
