Henri Génès

Henri Génès (born July 2, 1919 in Tarbes , Hautes-Pyrénées , † August 22, 2005 in Paris ) was a French singer and actor .

Life

In 1945 Henri Génès made his film debut alongside Charles Vanel in La Ferme du pendu . In the almost fifty years of his acting career, over 80 appearances in film and television productions should follow. He starred in Wirbel im Nachtclub (with Michel Simon ), in the comedy Ein insane guy (alongside Jean-Paul Belmondo and Raquel Welch ), in Claude Sautet's tragicomedy colleague is coming! (with Yves Montand ), in the crime parody Das Superhirn (with Belmondo, David Niven and Bourvil ) and in the drama Bartholomäusnacht (with Jeanne Moreau ) about the Huguenot persecution in Paris in 1572. In addition, he also took part in several German-French co-productions (e.g. Das Lied der Balalaika with Katja Ebstein and Liebe lets all flowers bloom with Jean-Claude Pascal ). In a total of eight films, he played mostly parodic characters alongside France's model comedian Louis de Funès : in addition to Bartholomew's Night in Spicy Things for Monsieur , the anti-war comedy Drei Bruchpiloten in Paris (with Bourvil and Benno Sterzenbach ), Baldwin, the dry swimmer , the Gendarme-von-St .Tropez sequel the Gendarme and the Extra-terrestrials , the Molière -Adaption Louis, the miser and the Science Fiction -Komödie La Soupe aux choux .

In addition, Génès performed as a singer on numerous European stages for over 60 years.

Génès was married to the actress Jeannette Batti and died on August 22, 2005 at the age of 86 in Paris.
