Jacques Perret (born September 8, 1901 in Trappes , Yvelines department , † December 10, 1992 in Paris ) was a French writer and screenwriter .

Career

Jacques Perret published novels as a writer, which were later also implemented on film. In 1938 Ernest le rebelle appeared , for which Jean Manse wrote the screenplay and published in 1962 The Corporal in the Snare by director Jean Renoir , who wrote the screenplay together with Guy Lefranc . Furthermore, the literary adaptations Le Machin (1973), Les Insulaires (1979) and Jean-Sans-Terre (1980) were published, which are based on his works. For his artistic achievements on The Mutton with Five Legs , Perret received a nomination in the category " Best Original Story" at the 1956 Academy Awards . He and his colleagues Jean Marsan , Raoul Ploquin , Henry Troyat and Henri Verneuil had to admit defeat to the competition, as Daniel Fuchs received the award for his performance on Tyrannical Love .
