Brigitte Auber
Brigitte Auber (actually Brigitte Cahen de Labzac , born April 27, 1925 in Paris ) is a French actress .
Life
Brigitte Auber initially wanted to be a dancer, until school aroused her interest in acting. She gained fame with the leading role in Jacques Becker's film Rendez-vous de juillet (1949), which was followed by leading roles in numerous French films of the 1950s, including Julien Duvivier's love film Under the Sky of Paris (1951). Internationally she played the important supporting role of the facade climber Danielle Foussard in Alfred Hitchcock's Above the Roofs of Nice (1955). Hitchcock considered casting Auber in his comedy Always Trouble with Harry , but language problems made it difficult and Shirley MacLaine got the role.
From the mid-1950s, the role offers for Auber in the cinema decreased. Instead, she mainly focused on her theater career and played at major Parisian theaters. In 1970 she appeared on television as the aged Françoise in the saga " Mauregard " by Claude de Givray , the young Françoise played Claude Jade . Her later film roles included Queen Anne's confidante ( Anne Parillaud ) in The Man in the Iron Mask (1998).
After a long period of time, she was back in front of the camera for the first time in 2019 for the film La sainte famille by Louis-Do de Lencquesaing .
