Claude de Givray

Claude de Givray (born April 7, 1933 ) is a French director and screenwriter.

Claude de Givray is best known as the co-author of François Truffauts for his films Stolen Kisses (1968) and Tisch und Bett (1968). Between the two films, Claude de Givray directed the mini-series Mauregard , which he wrote himself, and hired the leading actress of the two Truffaut films, Claude Jade , to play the role of Françoise. He had made his debut as a director in 1960 with Tire-au-flanc , in which Truffaut was involved in the script. Further directorial work followed: Une gross tête (1961) with Eddie Constantine , Un mari a prix fixe (1963) with Anna Karina , L'amour à la chaîne (1963) with Jean Yanne , the series Mauregard (1970) with Richard Leduc and Claude Jade and the comedy Dernier banco (1984) with Jean-Pierre Cassel . Based on a script by Truffaut and de Givray, Claude Miller directed The Little Thief with Charlotte Gainsbourg in 1988 .
