Simon de La Brosse , also in the spelling Simon de la Brosse (born October 9, 1965 in Paris , † April 17, 1998 in Suresnes ), was a French actor.

Life

Simon de La Brosse grew up in the Montmartre district of Paris , where he worked as a waiter in a café after graduating from college . Here he was discovered as a possible acting talent by Dominique Besnehard in 1982 and passed on to Éric Rohmer . Rohmer used him as the actor of the young person Sylvain in his film Pauline am Strand . In the following years de La Brosse received numerous roles in French and American film and television productions. In 1984 he began studying acting at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique , which he successfully completed in 1987. In the 1990s, his engagements decreased significantly. Simon de La Brosse died of suicide at the age of 32 . The last production he worked on, the multi-part television series Louise et les marchés , premiered on French television a few weeks after his death.
