action

The beautiful but naive Maggy Lunel came to Paris alone and without financial means in the early 1920s. As a well-known and popular model, she makes it to the title Queen of Models and is celebrated all over Paris. Maggy falls in love with the hitherto unknown painter Julien Mistral, an arrogant and selfish man who is only in love with his work. Julien is inspired by Maggy and during this time together he paints his first famous pictures, which are all sold at the first vernissage. Maggy and Julien split up after an argument. Maggy meets and loves the rich banker Perry ( Timothy Dalton ). In the meantime, Julien lets the rich American Kate Browning ( Lee Remick ) bear it. A child, Teddy, arises from the love between Maggy and Perry. Teddy will later become the mother of Fauve, Mistral's daughter.
