Valeria Ciangottini (born August 5, 1945 in Rome ) is an Italian actress .

Life

After Ciangottini was discovered by Federico Fellini in front of her school and was used in his The Sweet Life as a 14-year-old, she remained for years the personification of the natural, well-behaved, good "girl of today". She could not escape the stereotype of this role for a long time, even if she tried different genres from police films to parodic films. She played on stage, for television and also for the screen and was involved in RAI children's programs , which she often presented, such as I giacobini (1961) by Federico Zardi under Edmo Fenoglio , but also works like Giuseppe Verdi (1963 / 1964) by Mario Ferrero , in which she played Margherita Barezzi, Mastro di Gesualdo (1964) directed by Giacomo Vaccari or La pietra di luna (1972, Anton Giulio Majano ). Ciangottini made other notable television appearances in Anna Karenina (1974, Sandro Bolchi ), Racconti di fantascienza (1979, Alessandro Blasetti ), L'assedio (1980, Silvio Maestranzi ) or Il passo falso (1983, Paolo Poeti ). She also played in some television series. Her stage presence was characterized by appearances in classics.

With longer breaks (1988–1993, 2006–2015), Ciangottini can be seen in roles on the screen (and rarely in the cinema) to this day.

Ciangottini was married to the journalist Valerio Ricci (1943-2016) since 1974.
