The toy (French original title: Le Jouet ) is a French comedy film from 1976 . Directed by Francis Veber and Pierre Richard and Michel Bouquet occupied starring film was in 1982 by Richard Donner under the title of Playmate ( The Toy remade).

action

The reporter François Perrin works in a newspaper for the multimillionaire Rambal-Cochet. One day he has to report about the opening of a toy department in a department store. The eleven-year-old son of the multimillionaire, Eric, is also at the opening. He gets to choose a toy today and chooses poor François! In order not to stand on the street, François accepts the job as a toy. In the beginning there is still aversion, then slowly a real friendship develops. François teaches little Eric that money is not everything and you can't buy people. Eric's father displeases this friendship, and tries unsuccessfully to disrupt this friendship with all means at his disposal. In the end he has to leave Eric with François, because he is a better friend to Eric than his own father.

The film was nominated three times for the French César film award in 1977 (screenplay, production design and camera).
