Toronto International Film Festival 2015

The 40th Toronto International Film Festival took place September 10-20, 2015. The first films were announced on July 28, 2015, including Jean-Marc Vallées film Demolition starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts , which was shown as the opening film. Mr. Right from Paco Cabezas should close the festival.

At this year's edition of the festival there were two new sections, Platform and Primetime . In the Platform section , 12 films were evaluated by a jury, which ultimately awarded the best film with CAD 25,000. The jury consisted of the film directors Claire Denis , Jia Zhangke and Agnieszka Holland .

Six television series were selected for the Primetime section . The films for the TIFF Docs , Vanguard , Midnight Madness and Masters sections were announced on August 11th. Further program content was published on August 18th.
