Don McKellar

Don McKellar (born August 17, 1963 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor, screenwriter and director.

Life

Don McKellar attended the Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute and later studied English at the University of Toronto . He started his career in the theater but soon turned to Canadian film.

McKellar had his first role in a movie in 1989 in Bruce McDonald's film Roadkill , for which he also wrote the script. McKellar later worked on several projects with Bruce McDonald ( Highway 61 , 1991, Twitch City , 1998/2000).

Don McKellar's best-known projects in Europe are the Oscar-nominated film The Red Violin (1998), for which he also wrote the screenplay, and the David Cronenberg film eXistenZ (1999).

Don McKellar's directorial debut is the film Last Night (1998), not well known in Europe , which accompanies a handful of people in their final hours on earth, which will cease to exist at midnight due to a meteorite strike.

He was partnered with Tracy Wright until her death.
