Sion Sono

Shion Sono ( Japanese 園 子 温 , Sono Shion , often romanized as Sion Sono ; * 1961 in Toyokawa , Aichi Prefecture ) is a Japanese director , actor , producer , screenwriter and poet . He is the subject of controversial debate for his poetically avant-garde films, often with surreal content.
In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a screenwriter , which awards the Oscars every year.
