Pure Werner

Reiner Werner (born February 22, 1932 in Zschopau ; † February 2003 in Berlin ) was a German university professor , psychologist and manual therapist .

Life

Reiner Werner received his doctorate with an anthropological study at the mathematical and natural science faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin and completed his habilitation with a thesis on the psychotherapy of adolescent malpositions. In 1959 he founded a special home for mentally impaired children in Werftpfuhl , from which he adopted four of his pupils. In 1964, on his initiative, the combine of special homes for psychodiagnostics and educational-psychological therapy was formed, which he headed until 1971. He was then appointed full professor of forensic psychology at the Criminology Section at Humboldt University. In 1988 he founded the Institute for Social Therapy in the Department of Communication Science and Rehabilitation Education .

Under Theodor Brugsch , he developed his form of manual therapy from chiropractic , which he successfully established until his death. With his assistants Winfried Sporns and Marcus Schütz, he treated in particular stage actors (dancers from the State Opera , the Komische Oper and the State Ballet School), artists from the Artistic School and the Busch Circus , actors and pantomimes from the German theater and musicians in the 1980s and 1990s . From this work he and Schütz developed a series of lectures on the biomechanics of the dancer for the choreography institute at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1989 to 2000.

As an active member of the Kulturbund of the GDR , he moderated the popular event "Mittendrin", which was partially broadcast on television. In these events he presented artistry in the big top , ballet at the opera and applied arts in Schloss Köpenick .

In 1988 he founded a “ Magnus Hirschfeld Working Group” together with Marcus Schütz in the club of cultural workers in Berlin , which in 1991 had to stop working under this name under pressure from West Berlin's namesake.
